At Norfolk Writing School, our mission is to help students of all ages learn to write books and publish them.
We believe that everyone has at least one book in them and just needs the support and education to help them make their book reality. Find out more about our writing courses in Shouldham and King's Lynn below.
Working with small groups of students, we take a friendly and practical approach to teaching on our book writing courses. No prior writing experience is necessary to join our courses - just enthusiasm, an idea for a project and the willingness to learn.
Our courses include Write Your Book, Publish Your Book and forthcoming course Writing Crime Fiction.

Piper Terrett is a ex-Financial Times Group journalist and former senior lecturer in writing at London Metropolitan University. A Cambridge English graduate, she is the author of three books. She studied crime writing with Lesley Grant-Adamson and has written for MSN UK, Yahoo! and Mirror Online. Most recently, she was acting Director of Communications at Newnham College, Cambridge.
We believe that high-quality professional development should be accessible to everyone. That's why we offer competitive pricing and flexible payment options to help you achieve your writing goals.
We also organise mini field trips and visits to local author talks and literary festivals, as well as inviting authors, publishers and literary agents to speak to our students in class in person and via Zoom. These are tailored to our students' areas of interest.
We offer a variety of flexible formats in Shouldham and King's Lynn to fit your busy schedule, including in-person book writing courses and short writing courses, workshops and retreats. You can choose the format that works best for you and your learning style to learn to write books.
